Our Farm came about in the year 2002, when my parents Kurt & Marilyn Showlater purchased the house wiht 25 acres. They have since purchased more land ending in total of 95 acres. the farm has grown tremendously over thepast 6 years. We started our journey here with our first horse a 16' 2 appaloosa gelind named Jericho. He was the best barn buddy one could have. Althogh he was bit elderly at the time he was gret first horse. I myself ( Kristina) have always liked the painthorses but grew up riding an 18 hd percheron gelding named Squire. He took my breath away every time we went on the trails , with just a lead line and halter. Hours on end. ONe day as i was browsinf the web i came across the unique breed of the spotted drafts. I immediately thought I want some of those. I started my search on the spotted drafts and came across a a team of mares that were advertised as broke broke broke. So my Dad and I went to New York to look at them and it was jsut st that they were bred and had foals by their side. When we got to New York and the man hithched them i got the fever. I was determined to learn how to drive and these mares were goin to be the team for us. So we brought them home the same week .

I then went on search to learn how to drive. I cam across one of the best Mr. Percy Fuller who then was in his late 70's. He had a team of Morgan Mares that he was using for his carriage business. With many hours put in of hitching and unhitchin harnessing and unharnessing i learned alot in short period of time. I then came home to my horses and hithced them on my own for the first time . That was it for me I WAS ADDICTED. I started to help My Fuller alot with his team and assisitinghim to alot of his horse functions. This got me to love driving more and more each time.

After breeding one of the mares to an outside stallion , we decided to purchase our own stallion and ofcourse what but a spotted draft. We searched and searched coming across nothing to our liking. Then when we decided not to get a stallion as found Mack and out then other stallion Myles all the way in Ohio. So dad and I went on a venture to Mt Hope, Ohio to look at a couple of young stallions, Then they were 2 and 3. I fell in love wiht Myles instantly. Dad thought we had to get them both , so we did, Going home without the horses , we went back 3 weeks later to pick them up . A fifteen hour ride one way. It went very well.
